Speaking:

I enjoy, learn from, and draw on the words and wisdom of many people and traditions in my life. But when I write or speak I only share these things in relation to how it helps illuminate my own experience because that's the only thing I feel I have the authority to speak about. I offer my words and experiences to other people, in hopes that they can illuminate and help people learn from their own experience and pass that light onto others.

I've been inspired and amazed by the work of former teachers like John Holt, John Taylor Gatto, and Grace Llewellyn, as well as homeschooling parents who all draw on their own experience educating children when they advocate unschooling. Still, I've noticed very few unschoolers themselves actively advocate uschooling (with the notable exception of Peter Kowalke). That's probably because they're too busy following their bliss. Ditto for me; education, writing, and speaking have always been passions of mine. It was my insistence on genuine education that eventually led me to unschooling in 1999. I've been organizing events, forming groups, and pontificating about unschooling ever since.

I'd love to share what I've learned from my worldschooling experience with your conference, group, website, or magazine. Please feel free to contact me with any questions: .
