America - (Spanish: "a-may-ree-ca") North and South American continents viewed as one from Fairbanks, Alaska to Santiago, Chile

Americano/Americana - (Spanish: masculine and feminine form) anyone from "America" (see above), not exclusively people from the United States of America

farang - (Thai) foreigner; word non-Asian visitors and residents to Thailand will hear often

gaijin - (Japanese: "guy-jean") foreigner; word non-Asian visitors and residents of Japan will hear often

gambarimasu - (Japanese: "gam-ba-ree-mas") often used in the imperative form, as "gamabatte", it literally meaning "be strong under the pressure"; often translated as "Good luck!" or "Do your best!", while often used in the same contexts "be stong under the pressure" may give better definition of spirit of the word and part of Japanese spirit as a whole

geil - (German slang: "guy-ul") literally means "sexually arroused" but used very often by German speaking young people to mean "cool" or "sexually arrousing": "Das is so geil!", That's so cool!; or "Sie ist geil!", She's hot!

gezellig - (Dutch: "hka-zell-ik", starts with the same sound as "Hannukah") undefinable word that best approximates to "cozy" in English but Dutch people insist it is beyond this and can describe all sorts of situations from two old people cuddling by a fire to a group of young people hanging out on the beach drinking good Dutch beer

homeschooler - someone who wins spelling bees, who scores highly on standardized tests, and who many people imagine has poor social skills and sometimes does

homeschooling - 1. the educational approach whereby someone of school age does not go to school full-time; 2. the educational approach where a school structure is created in the home and students are taught by their parents or tutors

toxic anxiety - (coined by Robert Gerzon) 1. something that needs to be laughed at 2. anxiety often masking itself as natural anxiety but is often voice in ones head that repeats unhelpful, negative messages 3. sometimes the voice of ones mother, father, or teacher; see "sacred anxiety" and "natural anxiety"

unschooling - educational approach whereby the student guides his/her own education and life; often referred to as a more radical version of "homeschooling"
