Lookin' for a TestBy Eli Gerzon If you're lookin' for a test
Don't quest
at college or univeristy
You'll find adversity
But the kind that's empty, you see
You want maturity?
You need difficulty
That's meaningful to you, not me
Not your mom, not your dad
Not some stupid public fad
Need something makes you glad
You're on this earth
Shows you what you're worth
Why you were brought here at your birth
Purpose...
Purpose is what you need
But that's just a lead
That's just a word
Maybe you said, maybe you heard
But that's what you need man, or girl
Or else your whole life is just a twirl
Spinnin' in one place
Afraid to look life in the face
It's a disgrace
There's no getting around this:
You gotta follow your bliss
You'll start gleaning
What to you has meaning...
Then you'll get your ass kicked
Don't tell me you didn't expect it
You can try to detect it
You can try to correct it
But you'll stumble
You'll fumble
You will get humbled
Your ideas they will crumble
But it'll be done in a scred manner
It'll be like a banner
"Go this way!
This is how you gotta act, do, or say!
In order to accomplish your dreams..."
Still at times is may seem...
I've heard it been said:
"I feel lost. I feel dead."
Don't listen to this dread
Don't let it infiltrate your head
Death is a new start
Your insides will be torn apart
You'll be put back together, made whole
In this world you'll know your role
Before you know what you've been facin'
You'll be done with your initiation |
